Joo Chien (JC) has experience working with people from different age groups and diverse backgrounds, ranging from preschool children to senior citizens. Other than population with special needs, he is also familiar with working in refugee, charitable and non-governmental organization settings. Believing that therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and the client, he strives to provide a non-judgmental environment for his clients to explore their issues, and also to flexibly accommodate to their needs to provide the best fit in bringing out the best treatment outcome.

He has worked with clients on issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, special needs, schizophrenia, stress management, anger management, trauma, grief, self-esteem and other mental health issues. He is trained in conducting psycthotherapy and psychological assessments for intelligence or cognition (e.g., IQ test), developmental disorders (e.g., autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder etc), adaptive functioning, anger/aggression and many others. He also has experience conducting couple/family therapy and psycho-educational workshops or talks. Occasionally he is invited to give talk or write for magazines. At the moment, Joo Chien is also a part-time consultant for an international school in Klang Valley.
