Biodata
Ms. Sam Jeng Mun is a clinical psychologist and senior lecturer. She was also the honorary assistant secretary of the Malaysian Society of Clinical Psychologist (year 2017 to 2019). She is able to conduct psychological assessments, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions for children, teenagers, and adults. Her area of specialization includes common mental disorders (i.e, depression, anxiety, and stress), developmental disorders (i.e. autism, ADHD, intellectual difficulty), learning difficulties, school refusal, self-esteem, parenting skills, social, communication, and interpersonal relationships conflicts, and transitional life difficulties. Additionally, she also has experiences practicing in a multidisciplinary health professional team at the private and government hospitals.
Ms. Sam has more than 9 years of clinical experience. In her private practice, she provides a non-judgmental and safe space for her clients to express their concerns. While the psychological approach that she uses depends on the suitability of her clients’ conditions, she mainly utilizes the Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in sessions. Other than that, she also utilizes an eclectic approach (e.g., family systemic approach) to assist with clients’ needs from time-to-time. Besides practicing as a clinical psychologist, she has conducted various workshops, talks, and projects collaborating with corporate organizations, non-governmental organizations, and universities to improve the awareness and knowledge about mental health conditions.
