Biodata

Hui Yee is a clinical psychologist who is professionally trained to administer psychological assessments, provide diagnosis for various mental disorders, facilitate client’s self-exploration, and to provide psychotherapy.

She had previously worked with mainly adults and teenagers, with diverse presenting needs. For example, mood disorder, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dissociative disorder, personality disorders, gender dysphoria, and other interpersonal concerns.

Hui Yee’s main approach to therapy is to provide the evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in a humanistic manner. The professional relationship between a therapist and client can be powerful. Hence, Hui Yee strongly believes in developing an equal and collaborative relationship with her clients. Therapists may be equipped with the necessary theoretical frameworks and psychological concepts; yet she believes that the clients’ understanding of themselves is one of the main keys for change. Besides that, she is also flexible in incorporating other evidence-based approaches that deem suitable for her clients.

Therapists are also humans. Thus, Hui Yee values being open, empathetic, validating, and genuine when working with her clients. Sometimes, that includes her sense of humour. At her free time, she enjoys watching anime and playing video games.
