Yi Ling is currently a registered and licensed counsellor under the Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia (LKM). She mainly provides individual and couple counselling. She has attended Gottman Method Couple Therapy training in Level 1 and 2. She hopes to use the knowledge in Gottman Method to help couples form a healthy relationship and achieve better relationship satisfaction by teaching them effective communication skills to manage conflict and understand their partner’s world and views.

She has worked with a variety of populations of diverse cultural backgrounds with behavioural and emotional issues, including secondary, university school students and working adults. She focuses on providing individual and group counselling, family and marriage counselling, grief and bereavement counselling, and career counselling. During her practice, she provides counselling for individuals with different issues such as depression, anxiety, anger, grief, childhood trauma, life transition difficulties and difficulties in communication.

Besides that, she also facilitates psycho-educational workshops and talks for the general public and secondary school students in English and Chinese, teaching them how to work on emotional issues and deal with stressful events in life.

As a helping professional, she is devoted to empowering her clients in the journey of discovering and achieving their fullest potential in life via collaborative work in counselling. She believes that people could become who they want by exploring their needs and making their own choices.
